AMES Golf Outing Raises Over $14,000 For Charity

96 compete in 2nd annual event at Elks 797 Golf Club

WILMINGTON, Ohio -- September 15, 2016 -- Airborne Maintenance & Engineering Services, Inc. (AMES), a subsidiary of Air Transport Services Group, Inc. based at Wilmington Air Park, hosted a charity golf tournament on a beautiful day in late August at the Elks 797 Golf Club in Wilmington. The event had 96 golfers and 40 hole and team sponsors.

Between registration fees, sponsorships, and donations, over $14,000 was raised to support the missions of the American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, American Red Cross, United Way of Clinton County, and local food pantries.

"We had an amazing turnout by participants and sponsors," said AMES Vice President of Technical Operations Jim Savastano, "who were very generous in support of these worthy causes. We sold out way in advance and far exceeded our goal."

Sponsors included AAR Landing Gear, ABF Freight, ABX Air, Aerospace Rotables, Aerotek, Air Transport Components, Air Transport International, Amerijet, Apex, ATSG, BASCON, Bush Auto Place, Cargo Aircraft Management, CAVU Aerospace, Clinton County Airport Authority, Delta, Fastenal, First Class Air Repair, First Class Air Support, Flight Vehicles Consulting, Herber Aircraft Sales, JMCC, Kone Cranes, L2, LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions, LGSTX Services, Lowe's, Malibar, Medcraft, MTI Aviation, OMNI, PlaneTechs, Reliance Aircraft, Silver Wings Aerospace, STS Aviation Group, Sunwing, Support Air, TP Aerospace, and Turbo Resources.

"I also want to thank the many volunteers who help make events like this possible," said Savastano.

The golf tournament is one of several charity events sponsored by ATSG companies each year. Among them was the company's fourth annual car show held earlier in August that raised an additional $3,100 for charity, and a month-long food drive that collected more than 600 pounds of canned goods for local food pantries.
